Dr Mark Veitch, Director of Public Health
Tasmania’s Director of Public Health has removed the high risk designation from three regions of New Zealand.
From 6pm today, Monday 22 February, the regions of Auckland, Taranaki and Waikato are no longer designated as high risk for COVID-19.
This means anyone who has been in any of these three regions will not be required to quarantine upon arrival in Tasmania.
Travellers from the Auckland region are required to adhere to the conditions of travel to Australia, which includes a negative COVID-19 test in the 72 hours before flying to Australia.
If anyone has cold or flu-like symptoms, even mild, contact the Public Health Hotline on 1800 671 738 to book a test.
