Authorised health professionals who have completed COVID-19 vaccination training will give the vaccines to people.
Doses will firstly be given at hospital hubs at:
- The North West Regional Hospital
- The Launceston General Hospital
- The Royal Hobart Hospital
Vaccination teams managed by the Australian Government will deliver the vaccine to residential aged care and disability care residents and staff. These residents and staff will not need to go to the hospital hubs. The North West and North have been targeted for the initial rollout with all facilities being visited in coming weeks. Those centres in the first stage of the rollout include:
- Burnie
- Newstead
- Norwood
- Penguin
- Somerset
- St Leonards
- Ulverstone
- Wynyard
As the rollout continues, Tasmanians will be able to get vaccinated at other locations across the State. This will include GP respiratory clinics, some General Practices, Aboriginal Controlled Community Health Services, and vaccination clinics.
